Principle
Venturi Effect: When oxygen enters the mask through a narrow orifice, the flow rate increases to form a jet flow. Negative pressure is generated around the jet flow, and a certain amount of air is carried into the mask from the open edge. The ratio of air to oxygen can be adjusted by changing the size of the side slit of the mask.
Jet Mixing Principle: The high-speed oxygen flow ejected from the narrow orifice undergoes jet mixing with the surrounding stationary air. According to the principles of fluid mechanics, it will entrain the surrounding air in a certain proportion, thus forming a mixed gas with a specific oxygen concentration.

Features
Precise Oxygen Concentration Control: It can provide an oxygen concentration ranging from 24% to 60%. Doctors can accurately set the oxygen concentration required by the patient through the regulating device according to the patient's condition and blood gas analysis results.
High-Flow Oxygen Supply: It can supply high-flow gas, which is greater than the patient's maximum flow rate and tidal volume during inhalation, ensuring a constant oxygen inhalation concentration and being unaffected by the patient's breathing frequency and depth.
Reduced Rebreathing: The high-flow gas continuously flushes the inside of the mask, making it difficult for the carbon dioxide in the exhaled gas to remain in the mask. There is basically no rebreathing, which is beneficial for maintaining the patient's normal respiratory function.
Clinical Applications
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD): Patients with COPD have ventilation dysfunction and carbon dioxide retention. The use of a Venturi mask can accurately control the oxygen concentration and avoid suppressing the respiratory center due to excessive oxygen inhalation concentration, which may lead to aggravated carbon dioxide retention.
Other Pulmonary Diseases: Patients with chronic hypoxemia caused by diseases such as bronchial asthma, pulmonary heart disease, and interstitial lung disease need to precisely adjust the oxygen concentration to improve the hypoxic condition and avoid oxygen poisoning or carbon dioxide retention.
