Dialyzers are classified as low flux and high flux membrane dialyzers. Low flux dialyzer is defined by an ultrafiltration rate <15 mL/mmHg/h and a β2MG clearance rate <15 mL/min. It effectively remove small solutes through diffusion.
The main membrane material is synthetic polymers, such as polysulfone or polyethersulfone and the fiber is hollow type.
